Trail Description
The Chadwick Trail system is located in the Mark Twain National Forest approximately an hour from Springfield, MO. It is home to about 80 miles of ATV and dirtbike trails winding through the forest within the Ozarks! This riding area sits on only 12 square miles however you would have not idea by the way these trails are designed. In fact it is safe to say you could spend an entire day in Chadwick without ever having to backtrack on the same trail twice.
These trails offer a variety of skill level rides and include everything from hills, mud, and different types of terrain. Additionally, the trails are setup in a way that at times, really makes you feel like you are weaving in and out of trees. There are plenty of hills, ridges and woods to help keep you entertained while enjoying nature. Some of the trails should be marked, allowing riders to determine if they feel they are experienced for the "most difficult" ratings Chadwick provides. Thankfully there are so many different loops, those that are less comfortable with more difficult trails should still be able to find a nice area to ride.
Along with the 80 miles of trails, Chadwick also offers camping right along the trail. The camping area is accessible by vehicle. Making it easy to drive in, setup camp, and ride your machines right from the campsites. The campsites also offer options with electrical hookups for those in need and surprisingly the nightly cost really is not bad.
There are also two "special Areas" along this trail system. One is called a "Family Play Area" consisting of 3-acres to ride around and play on. It is just west of the Camp Ridge Campground and can also be identified on the map. The second is a 5 acre Bike area located near trails 110 and 135.
